I like to play my music load , with my stock 2019 Tacoma can't get that . If you ad a new head unit will that allow you to do that ?? Or is the volume tied into the amp ?

I'm definately not an audio expert, but I believe an aftermarket head unit will give you some extra wattage. If you really want to crank it up, you're gonna need an amp. And you'll probably want some aftermarket speakers to properly handle the power you need to stay clear while being loud.

The amplifier is in the head unit unless you have the JBL system.

If you have the JBL system, replace everything.

If you don't have the JBL system:
If you just want more power but like the OEM HU, add one of those compact amps.
If you're meh about the OEM HU, you can get more power/volume from an aftermarket but not as much as adding an amp.
If you want Good and Loud, you're going to end up replacing the stereo and adding an amplifer as well.

Just get an external power brick amp from Alpine or Kicker.

true. and if you do you to keep the stock HU and use an adapter like the LC7i, it will eat most of your volume. that's when i pulled the Entune unit and the LC7 and went full custom.
