real important question: was the truck wobbly and vibrating BEFORE the new Wildpeaks were put on?

Lower control arm bushings perhaps? Any difficulty maintaining an alignment?

Not with Tacoma's...check for loose or broken motor mounts.

You seem super fixated on the tires. If you read on the first page her truck drives great on the highway and paved roads and it shook worse before the new tires.

The concern is with hitting bumps and potholes at least is how I'm reading it. Which makes me think play in her rack. That should be easy to check as well as the tie rods. I would ask around for another mechanic to take a look at your steering rack and check the bushings out. It is worthwhile imo to check it out. Easy fix to.

Believe Timmy the toolman shows how to check in this video

I agree, it sounds like the rack bushing, tie rod ends, or lower control arm bushings all of which would mellow at vibes and shakes at higher rates of speed and straighter/smoother roads

yeah im fixated, I had a 2004 Tacoma and had the same issue as the OP it turned out to be the tires, they were All terrain types and were causing the same thing as the OP is quoting, as soon as I replaced the tires with MICHELIN AT2 tires the looseness miraculously dissappeared

Anything is possible; however, she has stated the new tires are super smooth on highway driving and at highway speeds.

Her issues seem to be with bumps, rough roads, and the like. If her tires weren't weighted properly and balanced I would assume the issues to be consistent.

I would assume that a mechanic who takes the car for a drive would notice tires. If the mechanic didn't drive the truck on roads where vibrations are more than likely to occur I can see why they truck didn't respond the same as it does for the OP.

The issues she describes were exactly the same as mine and it turned out to be slop in the rack and an inner tie rod but they didnt manifest until driving on poor roads.

if you look into the background of her truck it only has 80k miles on it and was previously owned by a 80 year old man who drove it around town, the easy process of elimination would be if these occurances were happening before the new tires were put on the truck, if not I would concour that its the tires(defective) or balancing/alignment I rest my case your honor.

If this was my problem, although a pain in the ass, I would find someone w/ the same yr truck, swap out the wheels and see if this problem goes away. If it does... well, you can figure out the rest. Even if you gotta bribe someone, at least you could rule it out one way or another.

Check your tranny hehe but seriously my shaking came from driveshaft and or transmission and now both will need to be replaced if I keep the truck

I started shaking when I put new ko2's on. Bfg even gave me a new set but still shook. Even time I'd repair something I thought it was causing it the shaking would stop but only for a week or too...

Jeeeze... 7 pages of no solution, Kate, one fellow New Mexican to another..STOP taking your taco to ignorant inexperienced monkeys up there...you bought it in Phoenix, hot and dry climate, brought it back to NM. Rubber deteriorates over time...vulcanized can and will fail...10-30 mph with vibration, bumps and potholes, the same..check all of ANYTHING that is rubber. In my experience, when I pulled the motor...Laughing at myself, the drivers side motor mount completely dislodged and swinging freely.
