Awesome thanks for the tip, man! I will definitely look into getting a code reader! I would imagine the sensor itself is going bad. Would you trust the Delphi or Denso replacement sensors?

winter blend gas and the more air you pump into the engine thru the CAI the more fuel the computer will send to mix with it,

@Drew12 did you ever get this figured out? I have a 2017 TRD off road with the 6 cylinder and I installed a K&N cold air intake yesterday and had the exact same problem as you. Everything went on without a hitch other than the fact after I installed it I went to start it and it would not stay running and I realized I had made the mistake of putting my mass airflow sensor on backwards with the arrow pointing the wrong direction so I disconnected the battery cable flip it around pointing the correct direction reconnected the battery cable and it fired right up and it's been running great every since I'm actually very happy with the difference in throttle response in the field of the performance. My concern is just as you experienced I'm now reading 13 to 14 miles per gallon and I've drove about 100 miles total driving and withput a doubt am getting better than 14mpg. The weird thing was it's restarted the mpg readout at 0 just like when I refill my gas tank and I assumed it would adjust back to my normal 17-18mpg or better but it has stayed at 13-14....i have a friend that's very knowledgeable in the auto parts industry and he says it will readjust bc Toyota's have a system that takes so many run cycles after power has been killed to recalibrate and accurately read .I hope he is correct but i was curious still of your outcome .thanks

Cold Air Intake Systems are great but please understand there are no free lunches when it comes to performance. Horsepower and performance = Fuel Consumption. CAI systems provide the opportunity for a vehicle to increase air volume/flow to the engine intake. The ECM of the vehicle has no choice but to add fuel to the increased air volume. It has to happen or a lean condition will occur in the engine resulting in burnt valves, pistons, spark plugs etc. Stop all the unnecessary diagnostics and understand nothing is wrong with your truck other than adding the CAI system.

Cold air intake are not worth it on these trucks, The oil coating from the filer get aerated and sticks to the heating element inside the MAF and affects the readings. I have seen this many times.

yes that is the correct part number. You could try cleaning the old one first with some maf sensor cleaner from the auto part store.
