Anyone have a good means of getting the dog hair out of the interior? It seems to really cling to the carpets, and i’ve even seen it weave into my cloth seats.

Currently i’ve just been brushing it with my palms, but thats not near as effective as it was on my older truck with seats of different material.

I've found a wet rag does wonders getting fur off the dash and carpet. First start with as much you can get out via a vacuum. The stuff is like glue though. I love my pups, but wow.

Lint roller, masking or duct tape always worked for me. For stupid amounts of hair I start with a stiff, dish washing brush (or even a soft wire brush) and then move on to the tape.....

Use a shower squeegee! Pull that along the carpet like you're cleaning a shower door a few times. The rubber works wonders!

Works on hair woven into fabric even. Trust me, I've got a golden retriever & a chihuahua.

GSD owner here. Nothing really works that great. I’ve tried them all.

Vacuum, the wedge thingy, wet rag, the slip on glove, etc etc.

I just keep the dog out of the truck now, since our daughter was born. I’m still picking out dog hair, 2 yrs later

I took my Stihl BR700 to the interior once, with all 4 doors open and all loose things secured, and let 'er rip :anonymous:

    It worked quite good actually.

I use a pumice stone. I have a Bullterrier and his fur is tiny, hollow and sharp. They even stick into my skin like needles sometimes. Also obviously works on the longer hair my Rotweiler mix leaves. Just be very careful around your plastic trim pieces. It chews plastic up pretty good.

Or it quickly makes the hair fly into corners and areas it would never get to flying through the air getting all agitated and churned up. Don't do this. I drive with windows down sometimes because summer, and it moves dog air onto my gauge cluster everytime. I have some behind the plastic as well.

Except for the hair that flies in your face and into the dash.

I had 2 prolific shedders, then my girlfriend added hers to the bunch, now a weekend trip with three dogs in the back will positively murder the interior.
I haven't found a good method yet. Usually I go to the self serve car wash with the free vacuums and wreck their shit with the first pass. Then my Dyson animal attachment to finish it at home. Tried the rag, dish glove, towel, furminator attachment. Nothing works like a vacuum and a whole lot of time.

I think the next trip will have clear painters tarps taped around the back seat before I even lay down the hammock, serial killer style.

I’ve done the window trick a few times - with the amount of fur my german shepherd makes - and that i’m on a cross-country trek so he’s in there everyday - it turns into a freakin’ furnado - gotta shield my eyes!

I don’t think there’s really any way of completely cleaning the hair out. I have two boxers, with the hair and drool is driving me nuts. To the point I’m contemplating purchasing a SnugTop camper! Lol best of luck with the hair!

Gorilla tape, wrapped sticky side out around your hand. GSD fur sticks to it well, but clogs the glue quickly.

    It's more a marathon than a sprint.

It really helps to drug the little hair demon before a long trip. Less stress == less hairborne debris. Ask your vet. Give him half doses. Mellow dog is better than unconscious farting dog.

Avoid trips during the moulting seasons.

I use a pet hair removal stone on my carpet and on my leather seats I just wipe them down with a damp towel to collect the fur.
