In anticipation of the new Tool album, Fear Inoculum, I will be replacing the oem speakers in my truck. I listen to talk radio 95% of the time. The other 5% is dedicated to music that is extremely important to me! I am going with these in the front........https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R9630CM/Infinity-Reference-REF-9630CX-6-x-9-Component-System.html

    And these in the back........https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R6532EM/Infinity-Reference-REF-6532EX-6-1-2-2-way-Speakers.html

I'm not adding amps and a sub, YET. They're a real possibility in the future. Am I on the right track? Will I regret keeping the OEM unit with nav? Thank you TW sound world for your help! Y'all are the best! I wish I could spend more time here.

I upgraded speakers and tweeters in my 15, not a noticeable upgrade without either an amp or a head unit.

I kinda figured that. Did you add an amp and sub yet? Have you replaced the head unit?

I have not done either. I’m still debating what direction I want to go. Personally I like the stock head unit which makes me want to go with the OEM+ set up. It’s spendy but they have such a clean fitting system. The only other sub option I like is the jl audio stealth box which is expensive too. But that route I’d have to go with an aftermarket head unit as well.

I am replacing all 6 speakers and adding a stealth box with the JL 10TW30-D4 and I think a 600W amp. I am keeping my stock head unit until it craps out, I currently don't have any issues with it. I am also non JBL, no NAV in my 2014. I can tie in w/ you guys if you'd like afterwards and send pics etc.

    Nice!

I went with Infinity Reference components. No amp or sub yet, but have contacted Mr. Marv for guidance.

I just got done replacing the front door speakers in my 14' yesterday and, to me, the sound was noticeably different. I wasn't expecting much honestly. I installed my passenger side first, then tested. I could tell the sound was more audible and crisper from the passenger side. It was muffled sounding on the drivers side in comparison (stock speakers). I went with Rockfords 6.5" 3 way and replaced the tweeter with a Rockford one.

I have a powered sub so the bass wasn't an issue afterwards. Anyway, just my experience.

Have you added a sub or amp yet? I am after a better sounding system but have never liked the look of non factory head units.
