Anyone have experience with toyota care platinum or outside MBP?

With my 2016 being a new generation, i signed up for Toyo care, but can cancel within 90 days (coming up in about a month). They got me for $2100, for 85k/7year....when i refinance with my credit union, i can get i beleive 100k/7 years for $900(through autoland). They're both "exclusionary."

From what i understand, toyo is easier to use, just go into any toyo dealer and they'll take care of you, whereas with MBP, they send out a claims adjuster like an insurance company would. Either way, both would try to screw you if you did something to void the warranty.

One example i heard was with toyocare, if your transmission fails under warranty, they'll replace your transmission. With MBP, they'd want someone to rebuild the transmission to fix the 1 part that was broken...

    Anybody have any experience?

A factory warranty is better than aftermarket because Toyota care won't specify aftermarket or used parts.

I think i actually got it for $1900, in any case, i found some threads that say i can definitely get it for cheaper...plan is to cancel for now and see if i think i need it before the current warranty expires...

The finance lady said she gave me a discount. $2000 for 6yrs/125k miles. The real bargain was 5 yr Safelite 0 deductible windshields for $500. They spread rediculous amounts of pea gravel here in the winter. It seems like I need one windshield a year.

I would not buy warranty until yours is close to expiring.. because it starts now. What's the point of having an extended warranty start now when you still have basic warranty left. It's a money maker.

When i worked at dealerships we made more money off extended warranty than anything else.

I debated getting one when I bought my truck I’m glad I didn’t flush that money down the toilet.

Also never get the paint treatment or the scotch guard. We always had the lot lizard do that and paid him 10 buck a hour to wax on wax off paint sealer we bought cheep. Get a ceramic coating for about 500.00 and well worth it if done by a expert.
