I’ve got 324k on mine and I just did the valve cover gaskets and timing belt and all the associated parts, and I’m getting ready to do the entire suspension and steering, tires. A lot better than having a payment on a truck that still is gonna go from a to b the exact same

I even feel guilty when I'm driving my '17 4Runner and I see another 1st gen. I want to give them "the wave" but then I realize I'm just a goober in a 5th gen to them, lol

i would appreciate a wave from one of you newish 4Runner types
the only wave i have recently had (or that I noticed) was a guy driving past me on i80 in a honda element
he made me miss my exit because I did not know what he was up to slowing down to get my attention on the busy highway

Don't call me one of those newish 4runner types.:crapstorm:

Once a first gen, always a first gen.

There's a guy in a 3rd gen 4runner that always seems to be dropping his kid off at school about the same time as me. I feel like driving my Taco a few days a week just to show that I can play too, lol. His is built pretty similar to mine, definitely not the broverlander builds you typically see, so I feel like we could be best friends.

I was in cabo a month ago and my aunt was asking me if I would be interested in selling either my 96 4X4 or my 03 regular cab 5 speed and I told her yes, for the right price. She asked how much for the 5 speed and I told her I need to get $5k out of it. She said Pesos? I said no tia, dollars. She asked how can an old pickup like that be worth $5k. As we pulled up to the last stop light before town I pointed out to her... tia, there is a Tacoma next to you on the right, there is one 3 vehicles ahead of us and there are 2 behind us... tia, tia, tia... half of Mexico can't be wrong! She never asked again for the rest of the trip.

I have 2 1st gens, I also have a work car provided by my company and is brand spanking new (19 Ford Fusion that I got with 30 miles), have a new BMW (2016) and a similar Audi (2015). I love my 1st gens even tho they squeak, need tons of work I don't have time for. But I will drive these 2 till the wheels fall off. Pics show how I found the 2nd Taco (is a 2000). Its been a real PITA putting it together but I love it

And looks a little better now. I hate having a note, and I could pay it off but not a big fan of new cars in general...don't really like the Turd gens all that much.

Yucel... I love the ... don't take offense, the ratty one. manual trans, manual windows NOTHING to break. I would put the front bumper back in place and like you said, drive it til the wheels fall off.

Yup that's what I did. Bought 2 bumper brackets off Amazon for 13-15 bux a piece, scored some parts like seats and what not...and been driving it for a year now. I also posted a new pic of the truck after doing some work on it...tge last picture I posted belong to the same truck
