Perhaps a better rating formula would be a combo of viable seatbelts and towing capacity.

I parked next to a 84 or so Toyota 4x4 pu. It looked so short and low compared to my 2019 TRD Sport access cab. If i were doing serious off roading i would want the little one.

The EPA standards also factor in the number of cupholders, which negates any mpg penalty Toyota pays. This ain't their first rodeo.

I'm way too skinny to be driving a Tundra. I keep thinking some Toyota representative is going to come to my house and say they made a mistake selling it to me.

If you think a Tacoma is bigger you should see the size comparison between a 1970 Dodge Challenger and a newer model . The 70 Challenger looks like small sub compact

The current Tacoma (a mid-size) is nearly identical to the T100 and first gen Tundra (also mid size).

I beg to disagree, the first Gen Tundra is quite a bit larger than the current tacoma

No way! Unless you put a different engine and transmission in it, so it can actually drive at highway speeds.

Disagree. Maybe my 2007 Ranger was made on Friday, last vehicle off the line. But electrical, brakes and suspension components were really crappy, had to change way too many things in eight years that I had it

    Access Cab Short Bed 4x4’s:

    Length: 217.5 vs 212.3
    Height: 71.5 vs 70.6
    Width: 75.2 vs 74.4
    Wheelbase: 128.3 vs 124.7

That’s 5” less length and 3/4” in width. First gen Tundra was an extension of the T100 and both are mid size.
