Well I gotta be the luckiest guy to have a ball joint failure. I heard grinding when turning at low speeds so I had the front half-jacked up and a friend turning the wheel to try and pin it down and the right ball joint just went POP. I already had new LBJs on order but that gave me a scare.

I plan on doing the UBJs, LBJs, coils and shocks. The last guy recently did the outer tie rod ends. The steering wheel feels tight I'm hoping the rest of the steering rack is ok, I don't really know what the inside of that thing looks like I'm used to the old toyotas with inner/outer tie rod ball joints. This is a 2000 2wd Prerunner with 200k miles.

What else am I missing in terms of potentially catastrophic failure? I know it would be good to ddo the control arm bushings but they feel ok at the moment so I'm hoping to put that off as I don't have time right now to tear everything down.

Other than the outer tie rods ends how do I inspect the rest of the steering rack?
