sorry if this post is somewhere else, but ive looked and im about to go crazy trying to figure this out. My truck does this the majority of the time. When i start it up and try to accelerate it bogs down really bad. Then when im going down the road it will just fall on its ass all of the sudden. Its not the tps, mas, plugs, plug wires, dis cap, rotary button, bad gas, throttle body, air filter, stopped up intake, or my muffler. Any more suggestions? Ive tried so many things and cant figure it out. Maybe the EGR vavle getting turned on at the wrong time?

    Thanks

I think you should look into a new fuel filter and a compression test.

Do you mean the cat is empty? No catalyst material?

    Which code? 420?

You could have a bad AFR senosr too. That will sometimes casue the code for the CAT to pop.

Yes, it could be the CAT even though it isn't clogged. There are several other things to check; exhaust leaks before the CAT. Look at the Exhaust manifold for cracks, look at the joints for leaking exhaust, look around the sensors and the CAT itself. If you don't find any leaks, then the only way left to troubleshoot it is to start throwing parts at it.

yeah i have checked for exhaust leaks i think im going to test the fuel pump and see if it is the problem with it being intermitent its hard to find but then ill take the CAT off and see how it goes
