2005 Tacoma OEM headlights from eBay

Hi, I purchased a pair of headlights from eBay and there is a broken top mount and some melted looking plastic on the inside of the DRL lights (on both). Should either of these be a concern?

I paid $120 + $60 shipping, but they refunded $60 because fo the mount. Would gorilla glue fix the plastic mount and is the melted plastic inside the DRL going to be an issue (maybe passing inspection?).

Those headlights were recalled back in the early 2nd Gen years! The recall was for the melted DRL’s

 

Should I just return them to the seller?

 

Contact him, he shouldn’t be selling recalled parts... that’s just a dick move

He did not advertise the issue. It came from some California place, so I can see that shady move.

I don’t know if there’s a timeline that Toyota uses. You should call Toyota to see if that recall is still valid and if they are willing to replace them

That doesn't look like DRL melting to me. This is what DRL melted lenses look like. Also, the OEM plastic housing back should be grey. Not black.

As far as Toyota, the headlight recall has expired.

UPDATE: Refund initiated on eBay.. The seller actually told me to throw them away because he wasn't going to pay for return shipping! LOLOL

Return shipping was free, so they are packaged up and ready for the Post Office. Once it gets delivered, I will have my full refund.

Shady auto parts shops on eBay all from California! This is the 3rd time something like this has happened. Another time I ordered side mirrors and again, a plastic piece was broken off and they told me just to throw it away and I still got my refund. WTH is wrong with the people!?

"hugoautobodyparts" on eBay, even came with cardboard separating the lights that said "Genuine Lexus Parts" HAHAHA clever bastards.

 

I'd suggest you just buy OEM housings from a member in here. Tons of people sell their original Toyota headlights
