That's why I used to run PTFE and Zinc additives in my oil in the old motor just for that very reason

Run all the snake oil you want but with the hardness not correct your going to wipe it out.
Obviously you didn't read the part about a bad batch got sent out.

 

Oil change don't take long.
It's all the free stuff we have to do while doing your Free oil change that takes all the time.

Yes I did read about the bad parts !!!!

All Flat tappet cams have had an issue since the oil mfgs removed PTFE and Zinc from motor oil . Plus yes there has also been an issue of soft core cams and lifters

A friend of mine knows all to well about bad cams and Lifters !!!! . He has a sbc and has had three camshaft failures resulting in a full rebuild ea time .he had lost a cam on start up during break in and the others just a few thousand miles

He was running a Comp cams hydraulic !!!

I remember the crane anti pump up lifters with edge orfice bleeders.
Reduces the amount of oil in the top end.
Loved that setup.

 

Same here I've run only Crane products , my new motor has Crane valvetrain components

 

Last engine I did was a Crower though back then Crane was considered top tier .
