This sounds right to me too. Assuming the dealer and Toyota won't lift a finger, how would you fix it? My first inclination would be to replace that connector, but I dunno if you can even get them.

It's not because its Hawaii. I get bullshit service from Toyota dealers everywhere. Dealers are just plain robbers.

Hmm...The mileage on the invoice says 34,500 I wonder if the dealer is double dipping as in charging the customer since the actual mileage is out of full warranty and then billing Toyota. Since the warranty is a performance contract between the owner of the vehicle and Toyota the dealership would need the owner’s signature on that document to get paid by Toyota. Wish I had all the facts as it would be interesting to catch a dealership perpetrating a fraud on the owner of the vehicle and Toyota.

Good point. If OP calls Toyota Corporate the mileage discrepancy needs to be reported to corporate. And without making a direct accusation, say something like I sure hope someone isn't billing me and also submitting a warranty claim to Toyota by under reporting the mileage!!!

OP, do you have any historical repair data for your vehicle? You may already know this, but.........
If you have not done so, create and account on the Toyota website. One of the things you will have access to is Toyota service records for your truck.

    https://www.toyota.com/owners/

Another source is Car Fax. It's a pay for data service but the price for one report isn't too bad. That's all you will need. Many independent repair facilities enter their repairs on vehicles into the Car Fax database.
