Interesting. My old CVT Mt. Hood (2014?) had the slip in plates for rails.
The Tepui install video shows and verbally confirms that at some time or currently they use the aluminum channel sliders. https://tepui.com/pages/installation
I certainly hope mine comes with them. If not, I will be fabricating something up as stated in previous post.

you know what, now that you mention that, you're right. It has the 2-3" piece that slides in the channel, not the bolt directly. I was incorrect.

I installed a couple KC cyclones on my rear bed bar. Ran the wires into the bed side and tapped into the taillight harness.

New configuration / setup for the RTT Trailer I have been working on...

Finally, I got around to opening the tent since I moved it 90 degrees on the trailer setup... so instead of it opening to the driver's side, it now opens over the deck of the trailer and the ladder goes right onto the deck.

Pretty sure this is going to work a lot nicer as I now have essentially a built-in patio I can step down onto and can also step onto the deck of the trailer and get stuff in and out of the tent instead of climbing the ladder. And I am able to secure the overhang to the trailer instead of stakes in the ground which eliminates tripping hazards at night. Plus I can just put a camp chair under the tent and sit on the trailer if it is raining or something. As well as take the tent cover, slide it out and put it on either side and essentially create a small wall for shade or slight protection from elements if needed

If I had the sewing skill, I would get some zipper and nicer matching canvas and build some actual walls I could zip onto the tent kinda how the annex goes, but only long enough to reach the rail of the trailer for tie down for the sides of the tent to allow for shade/wind/rain protection.

Still, have a few things I would like to do to like add two more scissor jacks to the front. Get a better spare tire holder. Another toolbox for more storage on the trailer. Build some sort of top for the sides above the fenders that can act as a table at camp. Plumb in a water connection so when at places that have a water hookup I can have a place to wash dishes or hands right on the trailer. I also want to get an awning for the driver's side to create even more shade on that side... if I could swing it I would get a 270 awning that would wrap around the back of the trailer as it would be perfect.

I have already towed with this set-up and it did perfectly. Once hooked up to the truck, the tent is barely above the cab of the truck and did great on the highway at 65mph and tracked excellent.

Nice. I keep meaning to do something like this. And another set of ambers as chase lights that I'll control separately

I like. Only concern I would have if I was you would be not having gusseted corners on the long supports. Take that on a dirt road and it starts shaking around and you may see that thing fold down. Easy to tack some on.

Lots of good ideas! I have a 14' trailer I could do that to and slide my sneek boat underneath.

Question: What is the single upright on the rear of the trailer for? I see how the tent is supported.

Where exactly are you saying to add more gussets to the long supports? Where the red circles are? Or where the long supports mount to the rail of the trailer?

    IMG_20190902_1832082.jpg

Yea, I honestly wanted a smaller trailer, but I ended up getting this one from my grandparents as they don't use it anymore as much on the condition that I retain the ability to use it to haul a 4wheeler if they ever needed too... but so far I have replaced the lighting and wiring, new tires, added a spare tire, and added the tool box that they all really like having on there. Plus the tent support it tall enough to be able to put a four wheeler or SxS on the trailer so if I ever got one in the future I could haul one... but I am looking at getting a kayak soon so I am going to end up building a way to haul the kayak on the trailer that will allow me to still also haul my mountain bike plus my storage boxes, so that everything is self-contained on the trailer pretty much.

To answer your question the single upright, the tent is in the way in the above picture, but there is also a horizontal bar that goes from that upright to the front of the trailer. I put that there so that I can hang a tarp from it and build a simple awning/shade to begin, but also so that I will have a place to mount an actual awning to in the future.
I am looking at either an 8ft ARB awning as my neighbor has one on his 4runner that I offered to buy, or if I can swing it someday, one of the 23Zero Peregrine 270degree awnings since it would open up and cover from the front of the trailer and wrap around the back of the trailer in line with the tent.

This was before I turned the tent.

be careful tapping into the tail lights. I put my back up cam into the reverse lights (like almost everyone does) and it kept blowing a fuse that wouldn't let me put my truck into gear without over riding it and wouldn't let my AC, 4WD, or anything work because it was on the same circuit. Finally found the problem when it kept throwing the Neutral Engagement Switch code. Thank God instead of $300 it was simply my cam that was throwing the fuse.
