I think they MIGHT be trying to help, but truely I think the insane store behavior is greatly due to the news stations reporting.

Today it actually wasnt too bad around town here (in treasure/space coast area). Stores I went into were essentially fully stocked. Guess people were all panicked out.

I will never understand why people put up their shutters so long before the hurricane, makes it soooo dark inside.

I'm in Summer Haven, almost Marineland. We had water in the house from Matthew and up to the house during Irma (yay sandbags!). Some of our neighbors had several feet of water during both. Just got Matthew fixed and along came Irma. Luckily neither were a direct hit. This is looking more like Matthew but further out to sea, they are predicting the storm surge to be much lower.

You don't live on the little strip of island just north of Marineland do ya?

The beach just north of Marineland where you have to park and walk across A1A, was one of my favorite surf spots.

I want to see one...Would like to see real life a tornado and hurricane. Been through a 7.4 earthquake, sand storms, killer heat.

I lived in Cincinnati when we had "THE" tornado outbreak on April 3rd 1974.

    Been thru several small hurricanes.

I'd much rather watch them on the news or YouTube, than see them up close and personal.

I see that the Atlantic breached straight through to the matanzas river again, directly south of the inlet. Matthew did the same thing, and it was a huge undertaking to fix it. Do you think they are going to fix this again? It seems like a huge waste of money, and obviously it is going to keep happening. How did A1A in flagler fair? Did all of that repair work get ruined as well? Forgive my questions, I won't be back down to see the area for myself for another month or two. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTblxhszdD4&t=11s

A1A north of Flagler Pier was fine this year.

    They'll fix the dunes.

The ocean broke thru north of there a few years ago...closer to Matanzas Inlet. They fixed that, then some idiot built a house in the same exact spot.
