What engine do you have? I have the 4cyl and there really isn't anything in the way when you remove the battery but if you were heavy handed or working too fast theres a vacuum line "close" that could have possibly been knocked off

I'd start by looking at all the vacuum lines

The ECU reset and maybe it may take a few miles to adjust to normal.

I've put about 100 miles on the truck since I swapped the battery. I'll check all the vacuum lines though.

You do know they do idle up at start up to get the operating temperature up.

They also idle higher when the AC compressor cycles on

Did you not drive the truck and forgot??

Are you getting The PO505 code?

It stays at a High idle 1000 rpms or higher all the time??

This is what I was thinking. Sometimes it takes a number of ignition cycles before the ECM relearns all that stuff, like the air/fuel ratio, spark advance, driving style, etc.

Normal, usually mine idles low after replacing the battery but either way it'll go back to normal after the ECU adjusts.

The ecu just needs to relearn idle. Drive it around for a mile or two and it'll be back to normal
