Agreed. The irony is this year the war is old enough to join the service.

My GWOT was spent stateside looking at financial records and drone feeds, but I know that even some in this thread may have had a more "direct" experience. We may have been kids when it all started but we aren't anymore.

I'll have to find it, but my dad was the PIC for the KC-10 that refuelled the first B-1 en route to Afghanistan for the first bombs of Op Jawbreaker. Has a great picture of it leaving the runway at Diego.

That would be fantastic...the B1 was the aircraft that I worked on. My first deployment was at Diego (insert tiny violin here).

That pole that sticks up on the back of it. My pilot car behind me said it came within an inch of hitting a stoplight. Guess this one is taller than the other one.

So that pic currently resides on my parents old yahoo account somewhere from 2001 which seems ancient now that I think about it. Next time I see them I'll have to go look through it.

I do have these that got sent over about 2007-8 timeframe though.

French Rafale. Getting gas from the US even though they declared months earlier that their CAS "would only to support french troops in contact"... "well then maybe you should go find french gas..."

If her blower is broken and she has a leaky rear end it’s probably time to trade in for a newer model

I hear that this happens very soon after the TSB window ends. A term normally called "marriage"
