@christian06 I have the damper, damper bracket, and your hinge installed. I don't understand how I'm supposed to attach the plastic bushing you provided to your hinge. This isn't covered in the install video, and the hinge looks different than the one posted on this thread. Any help or extra pictures you could provide?

Here is the hinge installed on the tailgate:

    And trying to install it:

All the weight of the tailgate ends up on the little plastic alignment pin - this can't be right.

Looks like you have the unfinished hinge.

It looks like the bushing is not pushed on all the way, push it down until the two little holding fingers pop through the hole. They will hold the bushing from falling off when you take the gate off.

Pushed on to what? Are you saying the tiny alignment barb is supposed to hold the weight of the tailgate? Even if it could, the bushing spins freely in that hole and the damper wouldn't do anything.

Do you see the picture I posted of the tailgate off the truck in my garage? The "hinge" as you've been calling it looks different that what others have been posting.

I see it now, the hinge u got is an un finished one, it lacks the mounting shoe for the bushing, I am so sorry for the inconvenience, I'll get the proper one out to u right away with a paid return envelope to send that one back.
    Once again I apologize

I appreciate it. Could you send another bushing too - just trying to remove the tailgate this morning broke the alignment/retention barb off.

Seems like it will work great once I get the finished hinge!

Not the end of the world, appreciate you quickly taking care of the issue. I watched the install video, but the hinge isn't shown in any real detail, so assumed it would make sense when I got there...
Should have seen me in the garage watching and rewatching, trying to figure out what I was missing

I appreciate it but I’m not that interested. I personally don’t like the way it looks. Cool idea though.

I sent him a PM, hope to get a reply so I can order one. I'll be replacing my rear sill and it would be the perfect time to do the install.
