The ruminating is real haha. I found out about your truck before you posted it on here or before I saw you posted it on here on Rob’s IG right after his black ranger went viral lol. I’ve already got a cantilever kit that I got a year ago. I’m just going through the ins and outs and what-have-you’s over and over again lol. If I could fit all my things in the bed with 2 spares and a soft topper and sleep in there I’d go with the cantilever kit for sure. I’ve got to get down under there with a tape measure and see if I can even fit a spare 35. It’ll make the decision even harder if I can keep a spare under the bed with outboard shocks since I’ll have half of the bed space back from the spare. I’d like to keep at least one battery and my dual arb compressor in the front corners of the bed so that makes a cage a little less nice. Hence my build name Can of Worms lol.

Can anyone identify this kit? It's on a 3rd Gen 4runner so would've been made for a 1st Gen taco or 3rd Gen 4runner.

Looks like a boxed stock lower - no big companies build a bump pad on the rear or hang the coilover tabs off the side like that, and the spindle connection looks like a stock lower.

Everything but the bump pad towards the rear leads me to believe it's an old 2wd camburg kit that was modified. I also kinda thought it looked like part of a stock lca but it looks to be the same as an old camburg kit.

I don’t recognize the uppers or lowers but it looks like a stock spindle with tc gusset.

@Radarninja is on his 2nd gen which is essentially the same kit - only difference between 2nd and 3rd gens for control arms are the lower cam bolts.

Yea I mean I do wish I could keep my spare somewhere other than the bed. I was able to get a 33" up there with a little movement. I do wish I had some kind of cage setup to room dual spares compared to ratchet strapped down. But having my whole bed potentially available is really nice.

Yeah that's what I figured. Old 2wd kit modified incorrectly to work with 4wd.

Not sure exactly what's going on there but it looks like one of our old 96-04 Tacoma 2wd/Prerunner kits. The bumpstop pad would be towards the front, not the back though. Not sure if they have the arms on the wrong side or what. That kit of ours was knocked off by a company/shop years ago so it might not even be ours. I would have to see more detailed pics.

You can email me pics and questions if you like ... scott@camburg.com

Don’t really have much experience in fabrication at all but I’m thinking of teaching myself a lot and I have a few friends that will help along the way... so I’m saying this cause I’ve thought about installing dmz myself and I was wondering if it’s worth it to try it out or just spend the extra money for the install cause I don’t really have anything to cut/bend or manipulate tubes and I don’t know if I wanna spend the money on tools I’ll use every once in a while. Also I’d need to take geometry and stuff like that into account cause I don’t have much background (I mean I still have common sense) in that area so I’m not sure how complicated it would be to line everything up. Any opinions would help, I know this has probably been asked before but people always discover something new when making the install easier so I’d love to know what you guys think!
