I will say I am glad you like it. Everyone is different in what they like and want and yes that 6.2 motor is great motor. I drove one and agree it drives great but the full size just doesn't work for what I want and as far as looks I much prefer the Tacoma. all that matters is you got what you want and like. I do not agree that anyone has the best vehicle than others but agree may be best to you. congrats on your new truck!!

I'd go for the Silverado, can't beat a V8

Sounds like you really want the Chevy.

FWIW, I test drove a 2018 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab 4x4 with the 5.3L V8: it drove and felt like a Cadillac, and for the $38,000 sale price it was a steal. But the thing didn’t like turning. It was happy motoring amazingly quietly in a straight line.

I haven’t driven the new GM trucks. I’ve heard great things about the 6.2L V8. I don’t think you can go wrong.

    Good luck!

PS - just saw that you bought the Chevy. Congratulations!

I was assigned full size Chevys trucks as my company vehicle for many years. My personal car is a Tacoma Pro. I didn’t even consider a Chevy truck when vehicle shopping.

I drive all sorts of new trucks for my job when I rent from enterprise, that being said my favorite rental so far has been the ram rebel out of all the big truck names i've kept this one for 4 months now, I also got 23 mpg highway with a ram big horn I had before the rebel, for full size trucks I would purchase a ram if I had to.

The 6.2L is a great motor. My mother-in-laws Denali has it, but she has never seen 24mpg.

You overpaid if you spent $53k. You could have talked them down into the $40s, especially with all of the crazy incentives and rebates GM always has.

It's a nice truck, I like GM products. But get rid of all of that chrome ASAP. The High Country trim is my least favorite appearance package, in my opinion of course.

Why are we even comparing a full size truck versus a mid size?

Uh no and no. The combined mpg of the Silverado 6.2L is 17, the Tacoma 3.5L is 18, plus quite a bit better highway mileage.

Also I had a full-size truck. Much bigger--a foot longer and half a foot wider at least. I park in parking ramps on a daily basis. It does make a difference.

Thanks for your advice on offroading. I know where to file it.
