I got mine done from Rear End Specialties in Santa Clara and I don't think mine was that high. I did take out the pumpkins myself and had them install the gears and the lockers. Just heads up, my front locker kept leaking and they had to open it 3 times. Turns out that ARB lockers had bad seals inside, but it could be installer's mistake and prob over tighten it, either way it was pain in the ass to get it fixed. ARB did hold up their end and paid for all the parts and labor for the last re-install.

Having said that, at first I was leaning towards getting pre-assembled ones from ECGS, but just in case if there is a leak or anything wrong with the lockers or gears, you will have to take out all of that stuff again and ship them and wait which I consider to be a major PITA. I would highly suggest getting it done locally and if there are any issues at least you can drop off the truck right away.

Just a piece of advice from my experience. When you get lockers installed, do try to engage the locker and be sure to leave it engaged for a while don't wait till you go off-roading. Basically, what you want to see how often compressor comes on. I would say if your compressor is coming on before 5-7 mins. there is something wrong.

yeah, i called for a quote about 1.5 years ago and they said $1,200. it took me a while to get the parts and now it's $1,800. considerable price increase.

No only price increased, but wait time is 4 fucking weeks

 

I paid $1800 like 4 years ago to the rear end shop in livermore for the labor and gears front and rear. They gave me a 3 year warrenty. I blew the diff two years in they covered it.

Sounds like the solution is to not get an ARB front locker. Those issues are why I'd opt for a torsen if it was available. ECGS offers one for 1st gens, but not for 3rd.

 

Correct. Don't get air locker. If I have to do it again, I would fork out bit extra for electric locker.

 

You have to pay to play....turn key is nice since you are fully covered

lalalalalalalalalalalalalal i'm not hearing any issues with the front ARB locker. i'm almost $1,000 in on that thing! it's got a 5-year warranty but i've burned through one of those years with the locker sitting on my dining room table.

I've watched other people's kids before so you're welcome you bring them...although the people whose kids I watched obviously weren't being watched themselves lol. Had to call out a wandering child before.....frightening.
