Amber rear turn signal?

Would anyone be interested in a tail light assembly with amber turn signals? I like the European philosophy on keeping turn indicators a contrasting color and amber generally reflects better in bright sunlight conditions. The 3rd gen tail light assembly has a rather larger reflector component that could be changed to an amber turn signal this of course would require adding red reflectors to the rear of the truck to maintain US DOT compliance and I've already accomplished that task in preparation for going to an amber turn indicator. They won't light to the sides as the current configuration does but not all vehicle do this either.

Pics of? The tail light with amber turn indicator or what I did to add red reflectors? No on the tail light assembly although I probably could make a CGI as for my new reflectors, that will have to wait until it stops raining but yes I can do that!

 

Yes, I want Amber turn signals on the back of my truck !! We have amber up front !!!

I toyed around with the idea there. Perfect footprint/recessed to hold an amber LED board.
Only problem is the outer lens on the 3rd gens(excluding PRO/limited) are tinted RED,
taking away from the amber color shining beneath.

 

Ahh, yes I know but...I am going to replace my existing housing with a custom PRO/Limited version blacked out my way. And yes you are correct there's plenty of room for an LED board or an LED bulb bayonet mount could be plastiwelded in place in lieu of a board.

It stopped raining enough so I could take a photo of what I did to satisfy US DOT compliance.

This isn't permanent and is Oralite reflective tape it along with the Tacoma tailgate applique are Oralite and reflect very bright at night. You cannot miss my truck at night if you're behind me they reflect that bright.

Toyota really downgraded these tail lights from the 2nd Gens IMO.
Believe it or not, your current tail lights do not have any red reflectors inside. They are all clear(and the red lens gives it the tint)

 

The red lenses definitely give the 3rd gen a lazy and cheap look, I noticed it immediately when the press photos came out. The 2nd gen LEDs are far nicer to look at and undoubtedly safer, glad I'm not the only one.

 

Subd...needing a light mod to satisfy UK road requirements...just shipped the car, but Aft blinkers must be Amber or they wont license it.

Any aftermarkets build?

 

Somehere on here MESO has a bulb / wire set up that I believe is plug and play, that makes your reverse lights also function as amber blinkers. As well as using the full C to signify brake lights, instead of just half.
