I was thinking that one too, but for stock challenging you likely want at least sliders.

 

Funny you mention sliders...when I backed into that tree I also slid over a smaller one...

Yup, gonna have to take it by an auto shop somewhere and see if most of that can't "buff out" and then sliders are on the list. I don't see myself NOT driving all through my woods in the future, so I sorta gotta bite the bullet.

 

Have you tried pulling the door panels and popping it out from the inside. You could probably get it to 80% of what a body shop would for no money.

 

I have thought about that, and have taken them off enough it should come off easy. I've just been lazy, but yeah, I will do that before I bring it in anywhere. I don't see any moves being made in the next week or two though.

Well... she doesn't even start at the moment so you might have me beat.

I shredded both front and rear tires and, if you look close, you'll see the front wheel itself is actually shattered. The center part is still bolted to the hub but everything behind it is in pieces.

Can't say much yet, I want to get the police report and make sure insurance works out. I basically hit a concrete wall about about 50 MPH. Anyone coming into the Seaport from the Pike this morning around 7 might have seen my truck against the tunnel wall waiting for a tow. For the impact it took, the truck did really well in my opinion.

 

I assume someone hit you into said wall and you weren't texting while driving

 

Pretty much, they hit my back end and I couldn't get it corrected fast enough to avoid hitting the wall. Other guy got cited so I'm hoping this goes as smooth as it can for me with regards to insurance.

 

Any welding guys in here up to help me do some sheet metal repair? I've got some holes in the tub of my M416 that I want to fill (probably weld). I can pay in cash, barter, beer...

definitely think @dc welding is the man for the job. if not you can have my hack welding skills which would probably blow holes in the metal if it's as thin as i think it is lmao

 

Flatten a piece of copper pipe and use it as a backer. Then hit the MiG trigger on & off to fill in the holes. Of course, the rust needs be removed first...

 

Yeah, I saw that you'd trashed everything wheel/tire related. I was guessing two blown tires that pulled you into the wall, though. But, I didn't take Massachusetts drivers into account, lol.

 

The other holes are no problem. This will be your problem child.
