I’m far from an electrical genius, so a little help is needed.

I’m stuck on wiring the MESO 3rd brake light. I’ve got the KC Cyclones and just don’t follow how to wire them up properly. Don’t want to inadvertently screw it up.

The purple, green, and white/black cables should connect how to the black and red brake lights and the black and red bed lights?

Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Thank you. That helps.

Just to make sure I’ve got it:

Bed Lights: black wire from lights will connect to the green wire. Red wire from lights will connect to the ground.

Brake Lights: Black wire from lights will connect to purple wire. Red wire from
    Lights will connect to ground.

No...all black wires from KC5’s lights go to ground the wire with the black stripe

2 Red wires from KC5’s go to green for bed lights

3 Red wires from KC5’s go to purple for the stop lights.

Pop the lense off, drill out the studs, install the Meso one...takes all of 20 minutes then enjoy. Also review the Meso 3rd brake light thread in sticky section for details. Excellent mod for the money!

Do we need to any kind of seal when installing this to prevent water leaks?

Comes with a built in seal. I would suggest a light bead of silicone or RTV over it though just for extra piece of mind. I have not had one of my brake lights leak yet.

bro you just blew my mind. I thought in order to take off the 3rd brake light you had to go through the inside liner, b post, unscrewing the hooks from the inside?

that’s what the shop did when they wrapped my roof.

long story short, I bought a Meso 3rd brake light and was dreading that I’ll have to remove the inside liner, etc lol

Hey all, I just got my KC5 last week and was wondering one thing. I have dry fit the cyclones and the KC logo is in good alignment on all but the right side. Is there any way to fix without removing plastic cover? TIA

Also, does anyone know if I drop the headliner to remove the OEM brake light, is it still usable afterwards? trying to decide if I want to take @Ronzio route or not:eek:

@Ronzio method would make the light useless after. Dropping the headliner allows you to actually unscrew the light instead of tearing it apart.

I am the same, I got a reply from Austin with Meso saying you have to cut wiring to feed through the housing.

Really? Has everyone w/ the KC5 had to do this? I feel I would have seen this talked about. The connector only needs an extra millimeter to fit through the hole. Seems to me that enlarging the hole a tiny bit with a drill bit would be easier than cutting wires. There’s gotta be a easier way to get the lights in the housingo_O
Like this, how do I get the connectors through the hole where the wires come from? The connectors are too big

Either drill it or cut the wires. I cut mine so I could solder them anyway.
