Picked up some real German Oktoberfest beer at total wine today. Good stuff. Also discovered that Allagash River Trip is only $10 a 4 pack there. Beats Wegmans by $3

Usually, that’s the area where I finally relax on my commute. It’s right after the 93 interchange where people do all sorts of stupid shit. Usually once I get to the tunnel, it’s like the home stretch, certainly wasn’t expecting that!

    So lets see...
2)fire alarms, one completely unexplained, the company that logs and monitors doesn't even understand it.
    1)wrong sized tent
1)outdoor lighting messed up because of said tent
    1)groomsman with flat tire
1)dead deer at our entry this morning, had to hide that in the woods before the guests showed up
1)buss that decided to not come until 10pm, was supposed to start picking people up at 3.
And a million other tiny little things. All were overcome and things went well...but Friday the 13th with the big moon was a kicker for us here.

Couple left super happy for an after party, so we did our job, but we got lucky the group was so easy to work with and didn't make it hard on us while we fought the universe. I'm not ready to feel totally in the clear until they leave tomorrow and we haven't had another fire alarm:fingerscrossed: if you got wood around you, give it a knock for me!

Is all this happening at your new house? I can’t recall if the venue and house are on the same property!

It all happened at the venue, but yes we are on the same property, which is good since we can respond quickly to things.

And it went off again at 3:42 am. We have a leak in the line somewhere and the water pressure isn't staying where it needs to be..when that happens it turns itself on to get it where it should be...and also sets off the entire alarm system. What really sucks, is that there isn't some sort of low pressure warning I can get without standing there looking. Hoping the reset lasts at least until 8-9 when we can hopefully get someone over to try to fix it.

Really have a good group of firefighters who are more than kind about this stuff. And luckily the couple was good about it as well. Firefighters will get some breakfast as thanks and the couple will get some free stay time in the future.

There are ways to add a warning switch, with adjustable pressure setting... easy, and incredibly expensive either.

Yeah I remember you saying the fire department was super cool about it. Whoever did that system install didn’t do too well I guess. Hopefully it gets sorted out quickly.

Chase is on his way!

Our other issue was actually the batteries needing to be replaced and gassing off. Got some new sealed ones and seem to be better
Gonna ask about this, guy will be here in 10-15 mins.

Sorry, was typing while dealing with morning BS, and didnt proof-read....
There are both easy, and complicated, not so expensive, and very expensive.
Your fire alarm contractor may need to think outside the box, if he is baffled regarding an adjustable RELIABLE, switch, let me know, and I will give you with options.

Sooo, 2 part issue, 1 totally our fault.

Someone had turned the jockey pump off, which keeps the pressure between 120-130psi. When that doesn’t kick on the system thinks “oh shit we are using a lot of water, must be a fire” and kicks the whole system on. So turned that back to auto, and tested it, works perfect and will get us through the day. There also is a sensor for low pressure...but for some reason our company doesn’t monitor that? Will have to see if that can change.

2nd issue is more complicated because we are still loosing psi too fast. Both the guy and fire department think a check valve has some build up and needs to be pulled and cleaned. There are 8 valves, but one or two that are most likely. They are coming back tomorrow with more gear and will pull some things to get to the bottom of it.

In Massachusetts there are two times I know of that you are NEVER at fault. If the other driver hits you from behind...and if you are hit by a vehicle that enters your roadway and they have a traffic control device/sign and you do not...You should be all set. I bet the other driver was on the phone/texting and didn't see traffic slowing and hit you doing 70....(effectively a 20mph rear ending) which is why your rear isn't too jacked but the the front and side that hit the wall are bad...Pray the frame is alright...Did you hit your head on the drivers door window? How is your neck....
I got t-boned once and didn't realize how hard I had hit the window with my noggin until hours later when I was "Hey why do I have this bump..."

    Glad you are OK.....

Sucks you got hit BUT vehicles can be repaired / replaced o_O
Enterprise gave me a 4x4 Ram 1500 when the Taco went in for a 2 week "oops repair."...I did request a truck of equal or more and Liberty Mutual /Enterprise came through :burnrubber: but dam, that thing drank gas like it was Budweiser :fistbump:

Keep tabs on how many days you have the rental while your truck is in the shop. Most policies have a 30 day allotment, unless you go through the at-fault insurance. My experience with that was miserable. I ended up running out of rental before my truck was delivered. With the Mazda the total loss was declared on like day 22, so I had a very short window to get a replacement.

I rear ended someone and either didn't get surcharged or it never hit my record. I don't know exactly how it worked, but I didn't get a payout for my car (I parted it assuming it would be ruled my fault) but I never got a SDIP at the time. I was on the highway and a car basically changed lanes in front of me and immediately locked up in a construction zone. There was barely enough room for them to fit and they got in and locked up. (Shrugs).

It was much worse than that, we were both going about 50, almost side by side, he locked the brakes on his vehicle and cranked it into my lane, hitting my driver’s side rear at a pretty steep angle. That kicked my back end over and I couldn’t correct the slide fast enough so I went into the wall without losing a lot of speed. He got cited, I didn’t so I should be good. My head didn’t hit anything, no air bags deployed. I actually had my driver’s window all the way opened, which is good because I had to climb out of it to get out. My neck is a little sore but not bad at the moment but my shoulder is sort of bad and I think I need to have it looked at. I must have hit it against the door or something, it feels like I jarred it pretty good. I have some things to keep an eye on for sure!
Thanks, and you’re right, they’ll either fix or total the truck but one way or another i’ll have a truck to drive.

Enterprise car rental will rent trucks and SUVs but have a very strict no towing policy. Hertz looks like they will let you tow with their vehicles as long as they have a factory receiver and you don’t exceed the ratings. Enterprise does have a truck rental where they rent pick ups and seem to let you tow with them. On Monday, I need to go through the at fault insurance company and get a vehicle comparable to my truck that will tow the camper. Whatever they get me, it can’t be worse on gas than the Ferd was!

Right now, I have a Ford Fusion hybrid. I’ve been getting 40 mpg with it so far. It gets up and goes pretty good also, impressive little car.

My parents warned me about the rental time limit as well. The shop seemed to think they’d know this week if the truck gets totaled or not, I guess meaning they’d have the estimate put together to compare it to what it’d worth. I’ve been looking around in the event it does get totaled so I at least know what’s available in the price range my truck’s worth. We’re stupid busy at work, I really don’t need to deal with buying a truck!

On a sort of related note, no one knows this yet, but if they decide to fix it, i’m having the shop put Ranch Hand bumpers on. They’re cheaper than factory and both factory bumpers are toast. If they fix it, might as well have them fix it the way I want it, right?

I have found a site that’s pretty solid on valuation and have found it to be bang on to what dealers offer for trade / retail if you need valuations for they offer you on total.

If you care to share, i’m interested. I was looking at KBB private party value and hoping that’s what they’d give me for it plus some adjustments for accessories.
