If you want any lift in the rear, yes. The shocks themselves cannot lift, they don't hold weight, they just absorb movement. Leaf springs are what actually supports the weight and therefore determines the height of the rear.

The 2.5" refers to the thickness of the shock itself.

This isn't true. Swapping springs/shocks without touching the sway bar absolutely and significantly alters the sway characteristics of a vehicle.

Hey, thedriza, I didn’t know you could still buy the classic Cooper Discoverers. They look great.
Wesintex, can we see picks of your Toyos from a few angles on the stock rims? I’m likely going the 255 route and with a similar OME 888, except I’ll likely go with the medium kit with the softer nitro chargers.
    Thanks guys!

I bought mine last year and that's I've been seeing. I plan on staying with Cooper and I'm going to try the Maxx next time around.

You'll have better chances of the target user you're responding to seeing your post if you click the "QUOTE" button on the bottom right corner of their post. It will notify them you're calling on them in a thread.

Are you supposed to get notified for replies where people quote you? Maybe I don't notice as much since I live off thread email notifications and don't look at the alerts much directly on the site. The other way to get someone's attention better is to @ their username in the thread/reply, like @aleriance @urbanplanner.

I’m sure it’s been said, but new shocks in the rear (Kings or whatever) don’t lift the rear of the truck. Add a leaf, new leaf pack, or blocks will be what lifts the rear of your truck. If you have any weight in your bed you’ll want to research leaf packs.
