Hey guys bought my Taco almost a year ago and I'm getting the itch to put more power into it. Mine is a 4 banger so I have realistic expectations on power restrictions, but I would like more than comes standard. Any recommendations on power adders? Turbo or Supercharger?

There’s a Rotrex SC already available, rumors of a roots SC available in a few months. There’s a rubbish turbo kit from Australia, I pieced one together because I like pain lol

I've heard of the Rotrex kit and I saw that it's a solid kit, just hesitant about spending $4500 on it lol. Would it be better/cheaper for me to piece one together?

I have a 2.7 but I dont have a turbo or supercharger on my truck so I know it could use a few more hamsters running on the wheel under the hood. If I were you I'd wait on the roots supercharger to come out I'd imagine itll help with low end and be less of a headache than piercing together a turbo kit for it. I think the urd charger would help it run alot faster, but if looks like it doesnt help the low end much and doesnt produce to much more torque than stock below 3000.
rpm. If you turbo it, it might be faster and maybe as quick as a stock v6 truck, but then you loose alot of the reliability 2.7 and its probably just better off to get a v6 truck

I could do that, but to be honest, I really like my body style and the way it's set up. Selling it is the last thing I really want to do. I've been tossing the idea of engine swapping it once its paid off.

The rotrex kit does help down low. Quite a bit actually.

Those that have pieced together the turbo kit, are in the turbo BS thread. Pretty easy. @dirtdigginjoe and @05Taco4x4 above. Both are happy with the gains across the powerband.

If I am to be honest, I wish I purchased the 4cylinder 2TR. Better engine to build boost with than the 1GR.
