Hey y’all! Brand new to Tacoma world-I’ve lurked in the shadows and used google search results to find things out but I figured I’d join so maybe I can contribute to this great resource. So if anyone wants to know anything about the most basic 3rd gen model I’ve got answers. Been driving mine since 01/17 and as of now it has 76,000 miles. Haven’t been able to do much yet so it’s stock as stock can be.

I get about 23 mpg real world-live in town and work 45miles from home so it’s a fair mix of city/highway. I’ve been able to do 25 all highway.

With that standard orange tire tread silhouette when it gets to or below 25ish psi.

Default is tcs on, press once for auto lsd, hold for 5 seconds for tcs off. Sadly my stock taco has an open diff so the auto lsd helps a lot but I wouldn’t use it on tarmac because it drags the brake on the wheel that’s slipping (or on road-the outside tire when you’re just turning).

Does your Tacoma have a sliding rear window?

It does-mine is the SR plus package so it has those rear “seats “, 2 extra speakers, cruise control, color matched bumpers, and those graphite 16x7” wheels that look cool but won’t stay if I lift it (+25mm backspacing=hella wheel spacers to run bigger rubber).

There’s an SR fan club thread on the first page usually.
