Replacing my factory speakers with 2 sets of 6.5" components. Added 2 kicker 10s about 2 months and the factory speakers just can't keep up with them. So I wired up a 75 watt X 4 Kicker amp for the components and built some custom fiberglass adapters that aim the speakers up and back towards the driver position.
I've finished the front doors but it was 2am when I finished and pictures were last thing on my mind.
Sprayed the fiberglass adapters with a bed liner material to help with any rattling, used SS hardware just in case it helps with any corrosion protection. Made some fiberglass adapters for the tweeters to mount in factory tweeter location.
Going to try and mount the tears today. Already ran the wires from the amp. Just can't decide where I want to mount the rear tweeters.....I know rear tweeters aren't recommended due to phase and staging issues but not here to debate that. Here are my 3 proposed locations without cutting holes in door panel

1- back top corners of cab
2- top of middle pillar- (here they will be about even with my normal seat position.)
3- On or near the 6.5 pointing thru the same grill on the door panel.
    Or
4-run the all the way to the front a pillars.
    5-other

I have a 7" pioneer head unit that can adjust time delay for each speaker so setting that won't be an issue.
I'll try to get more pics

3d printed the rear speaker adapters. Going to spray them with rubber coating to prevent rattles and tone down the orange so you don't see it thru the door panel20190904_120947.jpg 20190904_120953.jpg 20190904_121430.jpg 20190904_121430.jpg

Got all the speakers in, door panels trimmed (just had to trim back the ring on the inside of the door panel that fits around the factory speakers).... luckily the door panels don't rattle until just about maxing volume(I adjusted the speakers with the subwoofer off, once the subwooferwas turned back on it over powers any rattles and everything sounds nice and clean! Just what I wanted).20190906_145536.jpg 20190906_145524.jpg 20190906_145528.jpg 20190906_141351.jpg 20190906_141345.jpg 20190906_145557.jpg 20190906_141402.jpg
Still a bit of wire management to finish. Once I figure out where my rear tweeters are going I'll mount the crossovers somewhere more discreet. The front ones are mounted behind the front kick panels out of sight but accessible. I have double sided tape holding the tweeters in the back top corners of the cab. Bc I could find a spot that obviously sounded best for the rear tweeters I'm going to mount them there a cpl days then rotate between the spots mentioned In previous post until i either find the best sound or the easiest/best looking mount option.....kinda dissapointed no one has voted though, thought for sure I'd get at least 1 opinion...

One more thing, I've also thought of mounting the amp under the seat on like a roller system used for household drawers or toolbox drawers. Either that or just use these clips I found that snap together or double sided velcro

Also plan on either carpeting the area above the sub box or trimming the factory plastic to fit around just to make it look a bit better. I also have 2 MTX 10" 8500s that are a better match for the amp.

A few mods here and there and counting....
The placement of the crossover for the rear is an eye sore. Why not relocate it to the back?

You need to read his post and not just look at the pictures.

My initial reaction to this was "this guy..." but now I'm considering this myself because I have the stuff and I like to experiment. So here's where I'm thinking I'm going to put mine.

5 - Other, because it's almost on axis in relation to where the woofer will be, because the angle of the panel in this spot is favorable to rear seat direction, and because it will be far enough from anyone's face that it should balance with the woofer.
