I have a 2019 4Runner with a 3 inch suspension lift with 265/70/18, whenever I reverse and turn the wheel it would rub. I’m thinking of down sizing the tires. Would that work? Also what tire size you guys recommend

here is the difference in size if you downsize from 265 to 260, and 265 to 255 respectively...Screen Shot 2019-08-24 at 7.17.45 PM.jpgScreen Shot 2019-08-24 at 7.17.58 PM.jpg

I run 275\70 r17’s and mine rub in reverse at full lock too. I think some minor trimming of the fender well will fix it. Look for the rub marks on the plastic and trim this off.
