Can someone explain to me how the 3rd Gen Tacoma comes with a 1 inch lift from the factory? What are they using to get that lift? Are there spacers up front and an extra leaf in the back? Is it an overall suspension lift? I've googled it but I cant find anything on it.

I am curious because I want to lift my 2019 TRD Off Road with a 2 inch lift. To accomplish this, I want to add the 3rd Gen Bilstein 5100's all around. The front Bilstein's will be set to zero and I will add an 887 coil to actually get the front lift. The rear will be an 1.5" AAL. I tow a 2,000 camping trailer around so I want some rake in the back so it doesn't sag.

So, if I add the above setup plus the factory lift of 1inch... that should bring me to a 3inch overall lift? Do I need to worry about new UCA's or diff drop with this setup?

I'll be running 265/75/R16 wheels and tires.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure where you found this information.. The third gen does sit roughly an inch higher than the second, so maybe that's what you're referring to? Or perhaps the Pro which sits an inch higher than the other models?

I had a guy from the lift shop tell me that the 3rd gen comes with a factory 1" lift.... I guess I took his word for it. Sorry, I'm just trying to get this figured out. Lots of bro science out there. :)

It’s not lifted. Think of it as it sags less.

The TRD Pro comes with the Fox suspension which is a 1" lift over the other trim packages. In this situation 1+2 doesn't equil 3, If you are looking for a 3" lift then you will need to install a 3" lift.

Only the PRO comes with the 1" lift from the factory.

They’re not lifted. They just sit 1” higher than 2nd gens ad stated above. I’m also pretty sure the Pro suspension only lifts the front 3/4” and has no difference in the rear. At least that’s how the 2015 Pro’s are.
