I think I spent about $50 on my raptors. Saved about 70 grand doing it myself.

I DD my 2016 TRD OR Tacoma and it does exactly what I need it to do. Huge Tacoma fanboi.

My good friend drives a fully loaded 2019 Raptor, 37's, suspension upgrades, intake/exhaust work, and some exterior aesthetics. We went to pick up his old 70's Alfa Romeo from a mechanic outside of town ~6 or so weeks ago. On the way back to his house he wanted to drive the Alfa so I got to drive his Raptor.

Holy fuck. I see why that thing costs 70k+. It simply is in a different league than my Tacoma. It was better is almost every way imaginable, which should be obvious due to the price difference.

Couldn't own one though. I'd burn through gas and get speeding tickets far too often. Plus it's just too big. But after driving one I can definitely see the appeal.

It is among the most confusing and pointless I've ever had since 2009.

Lots of people who make more than that would still think paying that much for a vehicle is retarded. At our corporate hq you honestly would have no idea who is linked to what car. There's a manager that clears half a million annually, drives a 5 year old civic. One of the lab dudes that I work with (and is probably similar to my meager salary), new Porsche Macan. :notsure:

I think that goes much further into money management and who people really are. That is one long ass discussion that people get very heated about.

To most people a car is simply transportation, nothing else. To others it’s prestige, a status symbol, etc.

Negative , 99% of the people making “over 40k” a year rolling around in raptors are the same as poor folks buying 20” rims on credit ... the only difference is they just make a measly 120k a year and their set of rims is a Ford with a mid travel kit and a v6....

When they get laid off from their sales manager position ,the bank is coming after their truck and that 5/20 interest mortgage home (maybe even that jet ski too)

You need a utility vehicle to haul canned meats. You cannot use an f-150, it’s too big and tarded. You can’t use a Subaru, because you’re only allowed to drive 35 kulahuawehee (mph) there. So tacomas are the best thing to drive your spam around simple shit really

Careful you may be flogged on here with a post like that. Also is anyone really “cross shopping” between a Tacoma and a Raptor o_O I’d even go as far to say the guys saying uh well for me it was about the blah, blah, blah so in the end it was a Tacoma for me uh huh are full of sh!t and a Rap is not and could not be in there future especially considering the amount of what’d ya pay for your Tacoma talk around here. Personally for me it was between my truck and a Lambo but in the end the truck just checked to many boxes :D

Yes. To most people cars are that. Also trucks. My truck is very much a status symbol, like a neat little badge I wore with smug pride. Since it’s become super trendy to own a Tacoma, that badge has lost its credibility. Now there’s just people PRETENDING to be like me.

I am single and make $50k a year and that's a stupid fukin reason. Its called getting what you pay for. And a raptor is so over priced is beyond absurd.
