When I put my truck into drive it always wants to pull forward. I have to hit my brakes to stop the truck from moving once it's in drive. I'm pretty sure this is normal. When I put my VW into drive it also starts to pull forward

It feels like the gears slam into place instead of merely moving into place. Shift out of park, BAM, truck kinda jumps enough to shake you in your seat. Others say it’s normal, it probably is. I’m keeping in mind that this transmission is designed to tow 6,800 lbs. the cogs in there are pretty stout I’m sure

Are you parked on an incline when this happens? Meaning, if you put the truck in neutral and let off the brake, will it roll?

    Negative.

As someone mentioned, letting the idle RPMs drop a bit before shifting helps a lot.
