Has anyone had a problem with their QI charging pad lifting? The rubber on top of the pad of mine is bowling out- like a bubble of sorts. It's no longer sitting flush. My Taco was purchased 5 months ago.

I didn't want to make a dealer run if I could avoid it, so I was wondering if this was common for anyone here?

Have you been using it to charge your phone? I just got a phone modern enough to use it and it gets pretty damn hot. No buckling yet. Leverage your warranty. Photo?

Here is an example of how it is bubbling up.

I don't use it at all because my iPhones aren't new enough- so I don't think it is a heat thing. It has been used two times for my son's phone- but maybe for a total of 5 minutes because I make him plug in instead (I usually have another decorative matching pad on top which I hate moving to let him charge with the Qi)

Well that ain’t right! Warranty. There may be something wrong with the charger coil. Is it hot after driving? Or maybe the cover you have on it building up heat? I keep it turned off unless I need it.

Happened to me. I have not taken it to the dealer yet, was going to wait for its first service. The bubble is annoying, I have a rubber 'mat' that covers it but I can still see the shape.

That Qi charger is useless it heats up and the two lights start flashing since it's overheating. This with a note 8 that charges fine on all other pads. I opted with a wireless charger tray in the center console. I hear a lot of them are having the same issue. My truck is out of warranty so there is not much I can do since I just bought a used 2016 with low mileage but over the 36 months.

Had this happen in my new 2019 Tacoma OR. Took it in to the dealer and explained I haven't even used the damn thing.

They had no reason for me why it happened. They warrantied the OI pad, however, it took two weeks for the part to come in so don't be surprised if they don't call you back for a while.

Hopefully mine doesn't bubble up again...

Happened to mine about a month ago , took it on to the dealer and they changed it out under warranty no questions asked. They did tell me that the part is close to $750... so hope it doesn’t happen again once my warranty is up

I guess if you have the Qi switch on it's running.

I noticed my Qi Charging pad has bubbled up. I've been waiting a few to bring it in for warranty replacement. Mine bubbled up in the exact spot as the image above.

happened to me, never really used the charger. Got it replaced under warranty ($700 part apparently), and it happened again literally the next month. It's still bubbled up, but i dont really care enough to get it fixed again.

Was is your Qi button turned on?
Anything metallic sitting on the charging pad?
Yellow light lit up on the charging pad when a phone is not there?

It's an expensive issue that diminishes the value of your truck. Why should you take the hit?
Even if your truck is out of warranty you still have the one year warranty on the part that was installed.
Toyota won't realize it's an issue until either enough people complain about it,
    or it starts a fire.

I hope someone can get some decent pics of the underside of a failed unit... and the area it sits in...
