Only if you can’t pay attention and read the traffic ahead! I prefer Manual over Auto in almost every situation sans a few...

Way to take one for the team, LOL!
I love my m/t and may be the main reason I chose the Taco.

To an extent, but you can’t physically shift faster. Especially not in my car where the AWD drivetrain and factory tuned rev hang make smooth shifting hard.

I wish we'd been able to find a standard when we bought my wife's '17, but (according to the dealer) there wasn't a single one in TX. Oh well, I've got plenty of shifters in the Jeep!

I would be very shocked if that wasn't a case of we don't have one syndrome, Texas is huge and manual Tacos aren't that hard to find

I was looking at fully loaded M/T 3rd gens, but I got something more fun that still holds its value well. While I liked the 3rd gens, I just felt they were lacking in too many areas for the cost.

I don't get why people say manual is more "fun" I've driven plenty non manual cars that were way more fun to drive than a gawdy stick shift sports car.

There aren't, never really are. Gulf States doesn't order them, so getting one is strictly order and wait.

That's why I found mine in Tuscon.

I daily drove a 5 speed manual with an unsprung twin disc race clutch for 2 years. My auto sure is nice for commuting. Lol.

This, I couldn't find a single used m/t when I was looking for mine. To me it's crazier that dealers look at you crazy when you ask about manual vehicles.

Took me awhile to find my pro in manual. Even with having to first world problem compromise on long bed, touch less entry, JBL, push button start, and the auto stuff like ECT and crawl control it's still a no brainer.

I'm with @MikeyMcFly in debating the last possible jump off point for manuals. Honestly at that point theres going to be a feeding frenzy with the manual enthusiast over a finite supply. I hope I'm wrong but I think the only way that the manual sticks around is if they want it to keep competition with jeep or the new Ford Bronco if it comes out with a manual things like that.

Other companies could but choose not to. Would be a huge fan of a MT going back into a Subaru Legacy/Outback. Or Honda makes a solid MT and dropping it in an TLX A Spec would be nice without a ton of extra work. All would be upscale options from WRX/Civics that would appeal to people.

To be honest if Toyota offered the current 4Runner with a manual I would be all over that too.

    A few.
I still remember when I bought my first new toyota truck a 95 4x4 pickup. Back then it was the exact opposite. Most of them came with the 4 cylinder 5 speed manual and the auto trannies were the rare ones.
