    Thanks!

It’s for a buddy that just retired. There will be a whiskey decanter engraved with the army seal, couple glasses and a couple coasters. The inside of the lid will be engraved with his rank and name.

While pricey I prefer Waterlox Original. Wipes on, builds nicely and the actual tung oil gives it a nice warmth in color.

I'm not a woodworker by any means, not even amateur, but a little youtube research got me to update my kitchen cabinets. The 20+ years old mdf thermofoil cabinet doors are starting to peel. Got estimates from contractors and wow, they are expensive. diy from ready made kitchen cabinet doors are still expensive. So with a little youtube research, I redid all my kitchen cabinets with just the basic shaker style cabinet door, all from scratch, using maple lumber. Replaced some cabinets with drawers, and converted the narrow cabinet to sides of stove to pull out shelves.

my wife loves she now has a place to store her Starbucks mug collection.

I gotta ask... Do you have a mandrel, the necessary drill bit, and the bushings?

I'm glad you like it. It's definitely a beast.

I use an old paintball mask (and dust mask) when I have sawdust and chips flying everywhere; like when routing.

Shop around because PSI is on the high side sometimes. Sign up for the email letters from Woodcraft. They will put pens on sale for $5. Plus they will have some in their clearance section.

You need one of these if you get a mandrel. If they are making wonky blanks then they are doing something wrong.

Got the bed all mocked up in the sun room (which I'm skim coating and painting, hence the plastic). I have a few minor adjustments to make. This weekend will see the first few coats of finish going on!

    Nice work!
That lighter one I posted is a CA finish. The dark one is a friction polish. Open grain woods don't fair well with the CA. It tends to form bubbles unless you fill the grain. Teak makes a beautiful pen as well.
