    I’m looking in clackamas county, sandy, Oregon city, west Linn, Damascus, boring. In no particular order. We just want to get there a do some neighborhood recon. My good friend lives in Damascus, and visiting him is one of the reason I really liked to move to Oregon. I won’t be living in Portland city that’s one thing I do know.

    Yeah. Avoid Multnomah (or really the tricounty area) if you can help it. Clackamas or Washington are slightly more reasonable, but you'll still be subject to DEQ and some of the taxes.

    My truck is exempt for Smog thanks to veterans status. My wife’s 4runner is a 2019 so I’m not too worried about DEQ. Taxes on the other hand.

    It's awesome! Small city with big city feel. Car shows in the summer and everything. The only downside is they shut down a lot of the roads in the winter because of ice and snow.
