I have a 19 dcsb sr5, love it mostly. I want to lift it, love the look of it, I want a functional lift for mild to mod offroading. Needs would be regearing, full suspension lift, tires, rims, cmc. What else would be needed. I want a 4x4 that looks impressive, want to make it a tacoma, and i know this is going to cost alot, as I don't do any work on cars, no knowlwedge and tools Could we ballpark this idea of mine? The flip side my gf wants a jeep, those seem much easier to mod out.
    Thanks

Or you could take it out and actually see what you need and do it slow over time. The Tacoma is a very capable offroad vehicle stock.

Jeeps are not reliable. Depending on tire size, you may not have to regear. But yeah, everything with paying a shop to do the work would be around 8-10k

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
With IFS, the faster you want to go offroad, the more expensive it gets in my opinion. LT? lets say 8-10k if someone is installing everything for you. and that just suspension, fab of shock mount reinforcement/ relocation. gussets, everything.

So, now that we got that out of the way. ......

All prices not including installation- you are going to have to check around for cost.
Old Man emu lift, hd dakars leafs, ucas- 2k-2500 depending on upper control arms.
    Full steel skids-900
    Sliders-900
    Front bumper with winch- 2K-2300
Gears- 2400, to 3600 depending on lockers and who does the install.( if you are going to gear, may as well do 35s)
CMC- lets say 150-300 depending on how aggressive, and who does it, and if they do pinch weld or any extra trimming.
Tires- if you want 315s (1200), you will definitely need new wheels (900-1100)
Then Alignment, mount an balance, lets say 350 for all of that.
    Bed stiffeners-150

So on the high end of everything there, if you paid full retail and just dropped cheese until it was done, I could see being close to 14k. You dont really need any of this as a mandatory to hit trails.

I want you to really think about this though. If you took your time, pick and choose exactly what you want, waited for sales, group buys whatever, met some people that would be willing to help you install the stuff for beer, and company, you could save a shit load of money.

You get 2 of three options-Cheap-Fast-Done Right.
If you want it Cheap and Fast, it wont be done right
If you want it Fast and And done right, it wont be cheap.
But if you want it Done right and Cheap (none of this shit is really cheap tho, so we can say cheaper), it wont be done fast.

Btw, if you look at my build, I have much less money in my truck than what I told you above, and its pretty much exactly what i have on my truck. Without the rtt and bedrack.

Get back to me when you guys are back in October, maybe we can get some snow runs in. I picked up some shackles and an arb snatch strap, so let's try them out
