I guess that "distance to empty'' really means distance until you hit reserve?

Still have one more question for either or both of you guys @Merlin88, @Grossomotto.
Does the Fab four bumper replace everything but the hitch?

Something like 1-gallon of reserve after the 1 mile is up. Maybe someone can confirm, please? :notsure:

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I have a foot long "T" harness (like, if you had 2 trailers) that you can have for cheap if you want.

Bought it to cut up and wire in a Putco light bar, but then got lazy and just bought the part from them.

3 gal reserve tank. refilling when the gas light comes up will usually get you about 18 gallons in a 21 gal tank.

Thanks! So, I must have driven about 2 gallons worth of gas before getting to the 1 mile until distance to empty? Because the light was on for quite some time before that...

I would avoid running your truck on empty. In addition to sucking the gunk from the bottom of the tank into your fuel injectors there is also the issue of damaging your fuel pump. In most vehicles, the fuel pump is in the gas tank and is lubed by by the oil in your gas. No gas equals no lube. I’m not a mechanic but this is what I’ve been told by mechanics over the years. I never go below a quarter tank. Just a suggestion.

No worries at all, dude. My original comment was meant as a joke about shooting a hole in your floorboard, which failed miserably might I add. You weren't the guy who took it so seriously. Have a great weekend

Yeah I can usually bank on 50+ miles left of driving when the light comes on. And I usually go for maximum mileage per tank, since gas stations are not always conveniently located out here. Maybe I need to rethink that strategy.

So far my personal best tank MPG is 27, but that was driving quite gently and slowly through Yellowstone and Grand Teton NP.

Yes it replaces the entire original bumper, you actually need the factory tow hitch which it bolts to along with the frame

Thank you very much Bud, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear.
New @FabFour direct fit bumper on the way. Same one that Midwest Aftermarket has listed but with a 5% discount ordering directly from them. Saved me $40.:thumbsup:
    Thank you @Midwest Aftermarket!
