That was posted as a courtesy link but it looks like that dealer changed their site. The part number is 89904-53511 feel free to search for it at any of your favorite dealer websites... or google.

I think I could do a new smartkey but I have a used smartkey. At what point are the token numbers input? After erasing all other keys? I've seen plenty of videos on how to do new and used keys but haven't seen any that show how to use the token. If anyone could explain that, I'd appreciate it. I am up to post 360 and haven't seen it yet. TIA

I think I've got it figured out. Here's the howto:

Thanks. I feel like I'm talking to a celebrity with the smart key and the passenger door mods that you came up with. Awesome. Anyway, I found a used smartkey and have the cable on the way. I just gotta get a token and figure out how to use it. I'm pretty sure I could do a new smartkey but I've not seen how to use the token with a used smartkey.

Does anyone have a spare token that they're willing to sell? TIA.

Edit: I got a token and have figured out how to use them. Here is the how to:

Locksmiths locally won't touch blanks I bought off eBay. The one guy that was willing to do it wanted $150 a key.
I went on eBay and bought this:https://www.ebay.com/itm/110V-Key-Duplicating-Machine-Key-Reproducer-Reproducing-Cutter-Engrave-Key-Guide/264466991092?_trkparms=aid%3D111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20160727114228&meid=bb5f190190fe4d3692ee558c6a566e8a&pid=100290&rk=1&rkt=4&sd=264466991092&itm=264466991092&pmt=1&noa=1&pg=2060778&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507

Just did 4 keys and they work just fine. A couple of caveats, set the height on the guide and the cutter
on the blank and the original, rather than on the black metal clamp like the instructions tell you to.
The blank and the original might have different thickness/height. The carbide cutter is a piece of shit
and the bottom is not square, file it a little to make it square/perfectly flat.

Also, the amount of pressure you exert on the right handle makes the left handle easier/harder to maneuver.
First key looked like dog shit, but it worked. By the fourth one, the blank looked like a factory key.
    Get some blanks to practice.

2mm cutter is the best one to use.

Better not - with the key, then I'd have a copy of your key and your address! It's a cool skill/tool to have, you should get one!

It is best to tie the pop & lock to the passenger door. Then you set the driver door for one fob press and all other doors to 2 presses which opens the tailgate.

Edit: I hadn't thought about using a smart key when I installed my pop & lock and wired it to the passenger door. I guess I'll have to make one key press open all doors if I want my pop and lock to work while I'm using the smartkey, right?

I purchased a used key on eBay and used Techstream to program it. There was no requirement to unlock the smart key first, and I didn't see anything promoting it as an "unlocked" used smart key on eBay. Worked like a dream first try with Techstream.

Took my new blank for the smart key to the local dealer, Toyota of Poway, here is San Diego. It was $5 to have my key copied to the new blank. They didn't ask any questions, just wanted to see my registration and drivers license.

I dug up an old netbook that runs Win XP and installed Techstream on it. I'm just waiting on the used smartkey and for the seller to send me the unlock code for Techstream. He says it'll take a day. I have the cable too.

Maybe I can find customers on Craigslist that need a fob or key programmed so I can earn my money back. I hate paying for something that I can do myself.

Edit: Someone on TW had linked to smartkey blanks for $2.80 but with shipping it was just under $10. If it works, it'll be a whole lot better than the $43 they want on ebay.

I installed Techstream on an old netbook that's running Win XP. Now, at bootup, I get a popup that says "GTSAPI_TGD.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point CloseThreadpoolWork could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.DLL."

I searched google and found that it is Techstream related and that I need to get another KERNEL32.DLL and swap it out with the original in the Windows/System32 folder so I did. I still get the error.

I think I only get one license for the software I bought along with a cable and I believe I've tied it to this netbook.

Am I going to still be able to use Techstream to program my remotes? I have a used remote so I'll have to erase all remotes because of that. I'd hate to erase the remotes only to find out that I can't program them because of this error.

Does anyone have any ideas? TIA.

I am now a keyless driver. Thanks OP. I bought a token here but chickened out using it because it didn't want to erase my original fobs just to program this one. I sent it to someone on ebay who sent it back as a new fob. I have a token for $5 if anyone is interested. I am still a little worried about it not working away from home but so far so good for two days. I am thinking about having a plate welded to the rear of the hitch receiver so I can have a secure place to keep my spare fob, etc. I'll vacuum seal it first. I'd just as soon not pay $80 for a Hitch Vault. And I'd still be able to display my Saints hitch cover. I installed an Ultraloq U-Bolt for the home door so no key needed there either.

Edit: Today is 11/15/2019. I installed a new battery in my "Lexus" fob on 10/16/2019. I now have to put the fob up next to the door to get the door to unlock. The "new" battery lasted 1 month. I had bought a 2 pack of Panasonic CR2016 batteries from Amazon. You never know what you're gonna get from Amazon or Ebay. I have since ordered a 10 pack of Sony batteries. My research says CR2016 batteries have a 10 year shelf life. I'll keep them close.

As for the spare fob: I vacuum sealed one of the OEM fobs and put it inside of a hitch cover before I put the hitch pin in. So far so good.

I'm a fan as well, been fobless for a few months. My only gripes are not being able to unlock the tailgate without pulling key out of the backup key, and having to go to the driver side to unlock . Next mod will be replacing the passenger handle!

It sounds like you need to install a Pop and Lock.
