It honestly depends on what you're comfortable with.
The biggest thing about CCW is being completely comfortable with the weapon to the point that it's second nature in what you're doing.

You can carry anything you want if you trust it completely and you're trained in using it.

Best thing you can do in my opinion is go to a range, Shoot some pistols, Full size, Compact, SubCompact.
    9mm, 40, 45, 380, 357.

Find what you feel comfortable with.

Buy a gun and minimum 1000 rounds.

Go to the range, shoot all 1000 rounds, you will be comfortable enough with it to know how it feels at that point.

Next suggestion, Take classes, People honestly don't think about taking classes as much as they should.

It's extremely important in a CCW situation to know how to react when you get in a situation that requires you to draw it.

That means you need to practice over and over and over to make sure that it's second nature.

    Good luck with your journey.

I hope you never have to use it.

    Huge point here.
Choices on caliber, make, size etc are subject to individual comfort that research and practice will make it clear to you with time. Actually using the weapon for whatever reason against another human is a life changing experience that will impact many lives. You will never be the same again, period. More than likely it will be the biggest decision you will ever make, with zero time to decide.
There is so much more to this than choosing the tool itself. Research and the best of life to you.

hi-point is junky but they do shoot. A friend had one and it never had an issue. Just junky looking. LLAMA is one I wouldnt ever buy again. Its also junky. I didnt have any issues with my Taurus Pt-92. its a nice shooter and I cant remember it ever misfiring. M&P are good, glocks are good, etc.

A Hi-Point is not a quality firearm. Save another $200 and get something you know will work if you need it too. Like a Springfield. My xd40 has well over 4000 rounds through it and never had a jam/misfire etc. Just cleaned after every range/desert day and regularly maintained when not in use. As well as quality ammo through it and ive also never put reloads through it...

I have a bodygaurd too. With a wallet holster it fits really nicely and comes out easily of the back pocket of a pair of jeans.
Doesnt have much recoil and it's small enough to not be a hassle to carry all the time. Also not very noticable and nice to not have to worry about bending over and my gun hanging out from under my shirt at work or wherever.
I also have a s&w 38 j frame. It's a nice carry peice to but with 38 +p ammo does sting to shoot after a few times. I like them both
I would suggest both as good guns, I know how i am with a full size or so pistol and I buy them and leave them at home and carry my tiny gun.
