I have a 2006, 4X4 SR5. No packages. As I understand it, only one rear wheel receives power when in 2WD, and only one front wheel receives power when in 4WD. So it's not really 4X4, but more like 4X2, correct? To correct this, and give me more traction when off-roading, or navigating the snowy roads in the Colorado winter, I'd like to install some locking diffs. I've been searching the forums, and haven't really been able to find the answer I'm looking for. Basically, which type of locker is better (such as ARB or E-Locker). Pros and cons. Price. Performance, etc...I've read that it's better to only install a locker on the front end, as opposed to the rear. Is it counter-productive to have a locker on both diffs? Any advice or expertise would be appreciated. Thanks!

I put an Eaton TruTrac in my sport to replace my worn factory mechanical LSD. It's awesome on road, in snow, off road. Highly recommend.

The key word is "road". If you're looking for better traction on snowy roads, a TruTrac is the way to go. A locker (factory E-locker or ARB both have their plusses and minuses) is more applicable to the off-road guys that have 1 or more tires in the air and need the tires that are touching ground to turn and move the truck.

Where did you shop for yours at? Sounds like it's just what I'm looking for. Did you install it yourself, or have it professionally installed?

There are a bunch of options (local to you, national), but these guys have one of the best reputations and warranties of any gear supplier/builder:

    https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/

They'll be doing my gears and putting in a rear TruTrac when I get the funds to re-gear.
