I just got a letter today stating my 2015 is now included in the frame corrosion 12 year unlimited mile warranty and to expect a second letter with instructions for application of Toyota's special corrosion resistant compound

I haven't noticed any major surface corrosion on my truck, but it's nice to know that they still haven't managed to get a handle on frame protection from Dana or whoever makes their frames nowadays. /s

Got mine for my 2011 yesterday. Letter is somewhat confusing as to what I need to do. I guess I need to reread. I thought it says I have to take in for an inspection but it's not quite as cut and dry as that? It makes more sense that I should get another letter letting me know, but I didn't get that from the letter. It just says if I meet the qualifications, they'll replace my frame, if not, I can get it coated. Says I have 2 years to address the letter or the 12 years isn't valid.

OP take care of your truck. I drive the same roads as you and my 08 is a mess. That spray crap they put on 77, 71, 76, 271 is horrible. I tried and failed to be honest. Hopefully I’ll get lucky and Toyota will ok my replacement. I think the CRC they put on made it worse, but that’s just me venting. If Toyota says apply it and you’re covered, then I say do it. This pic is bad, but it’s *worse* then it looks.

You need to have your frame inspected if you suspect it has a qualifying perforation. If you don't have a perforation, you can have their CRC applied once they've rolled out that program. Do nothing now unless you suspect you have a perforation.

    Edit:
Once they notify you with a second letter that the CRC program is ready, then you have two years to have it applied. 12 years from in-service date will still apply for frame perforation if you don't have the CRC applied (as I understand it).

I'm actually surprised at the good relative condition of my frame for four winters and almost 80k. I change my own oil and look around whenever I'm under it. I've actually wanted to give it the full POR-15 treatment, but it hasn't given me reason to worry yet.

The way I read it....if you don't have the undercoating applied within 2 years, Toyota will not extend the frame replacement warranty for you.

Perhaps I read it wrong. But that's my understanding

I went and reread it. It does state the following:

"If the CRC is not applied to your vehicle within this two-year period, you will not be eligible for the frame replacement coverage mentioned above."

I have a 14 regular cab that has never seen winter and only rain a couple of times. It will probably never see winter think I should still have the CRC applied?

I'd say that's an individual call. Personally wouldn't want someone to recommend to me here. I plan to go with what's best to protect my long term interest with my truck.

If it is, or is like the CRC rubberized coating, IT WILL MAKE YOUR TRUCK RUST! Only use oil/fluid type undercoatings. I will never use anything that coats and "seals" the underbody by drying to a hard or rubber like surface. One nick or scratch from a rock or even taking a bolt loose, will break the seal allowing water/salt to creep and stay between the coating and frame. Because it can't dry or be washed out, you'll have hidden rust on your frame and not know it! Maybe that is what Toyota is counting on?
Also, when ever the coating is applied, it is sprayed or brushed over everything, wires, fuel lines, brake line, bolts, etc. As a Mechanic, I hate working on anything it has been applied too!
If this is what Toyota is planning on using, they can keep it! I'll keep pressure washing the underbody on my creeper and using Fluid Film when ever I need to.
