Not dead, but seems like most people want 4 seats over a 6' bed. Not me. This ain't no taxi, and family man I am not haha.

What I like about the Access cab is that it's got a big enough bed to be a truck and still some room behind the front seats for misc. Friend has the dbl cab, still not a lot of room for passengers anyway according to him and with a longer bed plus longer cab hard to maneuver. Which leaves the double cab short bed, that model imho doesn't do that good of a job of being a comfortable car for four passengers (truck afterall) and doesn't do that good of a job being a truck either since the bed is so short, plus if adding a camper shell might as well of got an S.U.V. People love em though as 90 percent of the 3rd gen tacos I see on the road are the dbl cab short bed. Fine with me I just like seeing other tacos out there and mine not being "popular" just made it easier to get a good deal. As the old saying goes - To each their own.

Beautiful truck, there is an SR5 AC 4x4 near me in the same color. Extremely low miles lease return. Great price too, it's very tempting. I too want the long bed, and am not sure I want a DC long bed.

I do a fair amount of kayak fishing, and haul them in the truck bed. a 6 foot bed vs 5 foot is huge for me, I use a bed extender and our kayaks are 12 feet. There's quite a bit of kayak hanging out of a 6 foot bed, a 5 foot bed and you're not too far from the the balance of the kayak wanting to tip back out the bed.

That looks like the Nissan Titan standard cab.

I love my 2019 TRD AC OR M/T, only available in Canada and thus quite rare.

Access cabs are the source! The short beds are stubby Aavalanche's and El Camino's.

    Stock for now.. maybe
I was looking for a access cab, 4WD, V6, manual transmission same as you. They are out there. Cargurus will let you put in all of those specifics. Im from southeast and most of the ones i was finding were purchased at auction by dealer and they mainly came from northeast so they were rusted to shit. I was looking for about a year but looking hard the last 2 months. Wait for the right one, itll come around. Ended up with a SR 2015. no rust, no dents

When we went to look at new Tacoma's I had my teenage son sit in the back with the front seat where I needed it. Not enough room. May work for little kids but we are past that point. Access Cab all the way.

Where is Toyota at with a middle 3rd seat? It would be a nice place for a car seat for yeti coolers.
