Not trying to be a dick to the other poster but no. Not good prices on new stuff and they usually dont know shit. You gotta put it on yourself to know what you know and strike while the iron is hot. Research and search. I have a local shop thats cool but they can have super high prices on some stuff and fair prices on others. Ive also done armslist and gunshows with success. Again you gotta have an idea of what stuff cost and what you are willing to spend. My supervisor has a bought alot through PSA but he knows someone thats does his transfers.

This happened about a month ago, so not in the last 48hrs. But I really want to post it anyway. Savage 10 ba stealth 300mw left handed, vortex viper pst gen II, nikon black scope rings. The sled and spotting scope are new too.

    No offense taken.

Prices are hit or miss, as is knowledge. They price match just like any other big chain. No reason to buy new for more then MSRP from anywhere.

    Nice! What spotting scope?

How do you like the sled? Been eyeballing that one.

Ive done my research in terms of renting each of the guns I posted in my previous post, put rounds through them, I know what I like. This will be my first pistol, and I've been told that once I buy one, I'll buy another... and another... and another. My intentions are to try to be economical, but the time it takes to economically buy a gun is crazy. I'm going to buy new and buy less often. Like I said before, I'd rather shoot than shop.

Its not quite a sled, its a gun rest. It doesn't stop your rifle from kickn ya in the shoulder. I like the adjustability. Makes getting the reticle on target easy. I like the rest because the reticle moves up and down once I get my shoulder behind the rifle as I breath, so I can work on my breathing technique from a very comfortable position and take my time when planning shots. I'm new to long-range shooting, so its a nice crutch to have while I work on my general shooting techniques. The spotting scope is a shitty cheap one off Amazon that absolutely kicks ass. I got the 20-60 80mm. The reviews are awesome, and so is the scope.

So go out and buy whats easiest? I personally have a problem paying msrp+ at a place like cabelas or BP. Ive done it. Id much rather spend msrp at a local mom and pop that treats me well. If you have no mom and pop go to the big box stores i guess. I agree though buying online seems like a hassle. Ive never gone through a major online retailer to be honest so thats outside my wheelhouse. I dont have a problem with buying from a private party either.

Find a local gun forum, most have buy/sell/trade sections (if you’re in a state like mine private party sales are FFL-free and stupid simple) and also check your local pawnshops, we have a decent pawn/gun shop locally that has an almost new Canik TP9SFX with a Vortex Viper on it with original box and all for $500, most of their other used guns are well priced also except for glocks.

I didnt say anything about buying from a bigbox store. I do like warehouse style on-line retailers and small shops. If I cant get the gun for the right price from a local shop, I'll go on-line. My comments were more oriented towards the crazy high prices for used pistols.

Lol i tend impulse buy at times so i wont judge anyone. Sometimes it works in my favor sometimes not. Its the name of the game. My strike while the iron is hot comment more pertains to stuff thats uncommon, limited production etc.

In preparation for my CCW, and some home defense safes, I made a couple purchases last night.

I bought two of these (one for each vehicle), lock boxes with cables:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TONRU9S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This for the closet, single long rifle quick access gun cabinet. I'm thinking of getting a suppressed AR chambered in 300blackout - these are so quiet. I like the idea of hurting the bad guys and not my hearing:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000T2A6BW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also bought these for back-up (pork rinds)... if my firearms dont work, my fiery ass will:

Yeah you gotta weed out the people asking stupid prices for used stuff. Armslist is a prime example of this. That being said you can find some real deals but you gotta be able to jump on it right away. Gunshows are the same way. You never know what will show up.

Edit to add. I was talking to a guy at the flea market earlier today that had a bed full of guns he bought earlier in the day. One being a match m14 he got for 1k. He also had a parastock m1 carbine at a good price. You gotta have the cash on hand when something is for sale or some other guy will buy it.

And now mushrooms are decriminalized. We are all just a bunch of hippies. You would think that prices for firearms would go down as the price of kombucha and organic top soil goes up? I shoulda got a degree in economics.

Also, since I mentioned it, what does everyone keep in the bedroom and how do you store it?

I wont pretend to know your age but one thing ive learned is guns in general hold value. Esp C&R stuff. So glad i bought a pile of mosin nagants when they cost $99.

Edit to add. As far as storing basically what you showed. My fiancee makes me atleast have stuff locked up. But we dont have kids or anything.

This is my kitchen setup at the moment. I got the bulk of my c&r stuff at my rents.

Just my pistol. Our night stands have a quasi hidden drawer. (I’ll add pic in a few). Otherwise the rest is in a hidden wall. I’d have gone the safe route but didn’t want it out in the open in the house and the garage has too many prying eyes when it’s opened.

No kids, dogs in the house, alarm system, and very watchful neighbors so I keep mine at my bed, rifle on the nightstand and pistol in the nightstand.
I also have guns stashed throughout the house for easy access.

Thats one downside living in a apartment with gunsafes. If i owned my own place id have heavy duty but expensive safes. I only keep what we really need in the apartment. If worse comes to worse anything we have can be replaced easily and would be covered hopefully be covered by insurance.

When i had a apartment with my best friend thats how we rolled. Hes kind of a gun nood so i made him get a weapon light so he wouldnt shoot me in the middle of the night :p.

If i had my way glock with weapon mounted light in nightstand and rifle/shotgun under the bed and in the closet. Id prob have something in the kitchen or livingroom as well.

Anyone have a quick access safe for their bedside firearm? My wife and I want to have kids this winter, so I trying to get a setup where everything is locked away and out-of-sight, yet still accessible.
