For about a month now, I’ve been dealing with (what I thought was) an ingrown hair on my lower shin. Today I decided to play micro-surgeon and see if I could help it along. Turns out, it was not an ingrown hair... but instead, a very long thorn or sliver!

Most likely, I picked up this hitchhiker back on Isle Royale in late July or early August.

 

It would look pretty cool with some re-pop vintage ice coolers in the bed and hooked to a hotdog cart at a farmer's market or local carshow in a town full of old farts. Just too far of a reach right now.

Did it fester up? I get those damn mesquite thorns occasionally. Usually by the time they fester up I'm about half sick.

 

Not really. It was only slightly tender. Raised bump, acted just like an ingrown hair would for the most part -which I have probably only ever had 2...

I do have one concern about it... the bump that it was making, seemed/seems even larger than the space it occupied and was to the side, not directly below. The bump where it was feels much reduced. Now I’m wondering if I don’t have another right next to it... that bumps is still there and still tender

 

Could be. Did you hit it peroxide? That may help.

New housing going up next to me. They pulled out a couple really big trees next to my walkway a couple months ago, graded and paved. Lots of rain this week, now this!




Walkway and porch pulling away from the house. FUCK! Hope insurance will cover and they can fight it out with the developer. House seems fine, for now....

 

That's bullshit right there. That's why curb and gutter goes in before asphalt.
