What Does Your Taco Tow?

Took my ‘17 TRD Sport to the river this weekend and started to wonder what other Tacoma owners are towing. I was a bit worried when I was looking at tacoma’s that they might not have enough nut to tow my boat I was wrong. Tows like a dream!!!!!

 

I moved a few safes for a couple friends.

 

I will say this, I just towed 4000lbs of wood pellets and 10 siding panels and the trailer probably weighs at least 1500 lbs. Drove about 100 mi back. Not to many hills . I have an add a leaf with 285-75-16's . Just amazed how my tacoma performed. 6 gallons of gas. The add a leaf makes a world of differece. Barely went down when hooked up.

 

That's good to hear. Which AAL did you use and how much lift did it give you? Did you change shocks as well?

 

Just a home built trailer for my kayak, behind my jeep in this pic. Traded the Jeep in for the Tacoma. Of course now I have to figure out how to put Toyota wheels on it, lol. Added second pic, better pic

 

I have a 4 banger and tow nothing

 

12.5 ft Kayaks or a basket hitch

 

My buddy with an F-150 thought my pickup was going to struggle with this. Had no issues launching on a steep ramp into the river. Trailer brakes and upgraded suspension are in my near future anyhow.

 

Tow stuff. Trailer about 700lbs.
lots of metal for being small.
Easy for the four.

You need to find yourself a GEN 3 rear clip.

 

I’m embarrassed to say I do not tow anything. I never have and sadly do not know how.

2nd gen

 

There's a very good chance I'll be towing a friend's 1994 Mustang to a local car show in a couple weeks.

But generally the only thing I haul is myself to McDonald's.

EDIT: The Mustang did not happen, someone else with a Chevy diesel towed it.

 

I’m surprised you don’t need a 3/4 ton diesel to tow those Yamaha pigs around.
