Anyone have a quick access safe for their bedside firearm? My wife and I want to have kids this winter, so I trying to get a setup where everything is locked away and out-of-sight, yet still accessible.

What is your home security system? I was thinking of using simplisafe.

I bought a Hornady two gun keypad vault. You can open it with a key or key pad. I wouldnt trust that biometric type shit.

If i owned my own place id bolt this down that way someone couldnt walk off with it. That safe with cable would work though. My kitchen safe is SerenLife brand my fiancee got me for christmas. Seems comparible to stack on brand but requires two different keys to open.

I use the rule of 70 on a used pistol

If I can get it for 70% of retail, then I buy
if Not, I go to a LGS that gives Vets and Cops 10% off EVERYTHING!

Keep my Sig 226 either on me or the nightstand.

I installed Simplisafe a couple weeks ago and it's working good so far. I replaced some of the 2 sided tape with 3M outdoor tape after a couple sensor fell off. My dad said his batteries were dying too fast but he may have had the old version years ago.

Then we have Chamberlain IR motion sensors outside which I really like.

Vets and cops should get a better discount. I think someone's life is worth more than 10% off.

Eh, I'm indifferent about discounts. I'd rather shop somewhere that has low enough prices and a small enough profit margin that they can't afford to give discounts.

As someone who doesn't qualify for vet or cop discounts, I'd like that too. But I still support the folks who are willing keep my country and city safe.

    Guys/Gals,

How many of you place bids on GunBroker, dont win anything, and then place a bunch more bids hoping to get something; and as the auctions are approaching their end you realize you might end up with more than one gun? In frustration yesterday I bitched on this thread about not being able to buy used pistols at a reasonable price, and then vowed to go buy new once I was inevitably outbid. Well, I may end up with a HK vp9sk with night sights, a Ruger lc9s, a M&P shield, and a Kahr PM9... my wife laughed at me, and will probably take this out of my allowance.

I do that regularly but without the worry because I have an FFL and retail storefront so if I over buy I’ll just sell them

    Did something similar.

Was looking for a SA TRP OPERATOR and could not find it anywhere, so I made a deal on the "Mil-Spec" 1911 to be transferred at 12:30 the next day.
On the morning of the transfer, i found my TRP OPERATOR so at noon I transferred the Operator, 30 minutes later the milspec.

In other news, my buddy got his ATF approval for an SBR and suppressor today. I'm super jealous. It only took 36 days, which I was very impressed by. Ive heard this can take months and months. I think I'm going to follow suit. I don't own an AR, but when I do it will be quiet and tiny, just like......hehehehe
