I just recent bought another Tacoma a 2002 4 door with 320,000miles. 90% highway been well maintained. I have a 1998 xtra cab that has a TRD black supercharger on it. I’m wanting to swap over my lift and supercharger to this newer truck. My 1998 has 235,000 miles but they are Baja buggy rough miles/pretty beat up truck. Does anyone think this is a bad idea or think it will put too much stress on This newer trucks motor?? I’ve got some slight oil seepage on the 2002 and would like to swap the charger over when I swap out gaskets. Ready go!!

Rebuild the charger, change the oil and run it.

I would recommend making sure your fuel managment is adequate maybe,7th injector kit, fuel pump, new fuel filter as well and check your compression on each cylinder. Good luck. I have 290k on my 03 and considered doing the same but cared more for dependability so it can last at least another 5 years until the 6th gen 4Runner comes out to give Toyota time to work out any bugs they may have.

Do the engine now or when it breaks.

Unless you can keep your foot off the skinny pedal .

Just a change in driving style can cause strange things add in forced induction who can say .
