I'm new to the Tacoma world and am looking for a first gen as a reliable DD. I found one locally that seems to be fairly priced but I am concerned about rust on the frame.

let me know your thoughts about the rust on the frame and if it isn't an issue or if I should run. I took a hammer to the rust and the frame didn't dent and had a consistent ping w/ no hollow sounds.

The truck is a 95', that being said I know its not going to be perfect, I just want to avoid the frame cracking on me.

    Thanks for the help.

Run away, it would be too much work to preserve. You can get a newer ranger for under 10 is great shape

well, even if that frames passes the hammer test, you can't leave it like that. You'll have a lot of work to do on the frame (and yes, it looks like it was already patched up in second pic)... but truth is that the truck needs a whole new frame anyway

pass, unless it is dirt cheap and you want a project to work on

Thanks for the quick responses everyone. Its sounds like I should avoid the hassle and find a truck with a better frame.
